The irony of the British saying americans are stupid for not knowing the geography of a continent that estimated 70% of americans will never see or need to see. I imagine there are a ton more like her than not and it doesn't make her stupid. As an american, it would be easy for me to laugh at this, hOw CouLD ShE nOT KnOw that? Its a tad easier for europeans to see multiple countries on their continent, as you have 50+ more valid options. 10% of americans never even leave their state, I'm from a small town, and I've met old people who have only seen 5 different cities in their life. All within a 50 mile radius. Hell, in the last 3 years ive only left my state 3 times, granted I'm from texas and it is more difficult to leave due to the size, and most people you know still live here. Texas is larger than France.

Not being from the US herself, I think she did pretty well. We have states, where Europe has countries, it’s not hard to understand how or why she would be geographically confused. I have to say that having been educated, fairly well, in the US, there was little to no emphasis on world geography, yes we learned about the continents and different oceans but it’s obvious to me at this point that we weren’t being taught or expected to be world travelers, which is from my understanding, a big joke to people who literally can drive one hour in multiple directions and be in different countries. I can cross multiple counties, but I am still in the same state. I just read yesterday, a comment about the US people being in a culture that is so dependent on automobiles, Really???? So much of the US is rural and in some places you’re miles away from your closest neighbors.
